Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a form of psychotherapy that enables people to heal from the symptoms and emotional distress of past trauma.
In response to trauma, people often develop “blocks” that protect them from feeling associated pain. But these blocks actually stunt their long-term ability to heal. Once the block is removed, the healing can begin. Studies show that EMDR therapy has benefits similar to those of psychotherapy and delivers them much more rapidly.
