Before joining APN Lodge, Abe served as CEO and Clinical Director at Next Chapter Treatment – a successful high-end, all-male trauma and addiction treatment program in coastal Florida. A Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Abe leads the APN Lodge trauma team in Post Induction Therapy (PIT).
Abe is a fervent advocate of trauma-oriented treatment, believing that every dysfunctional adult behavior pattern has its origins in deeply-rooted childhood trauma. To truly change dysfunctional behaviors, Abe treats the wound of trauma rather than merely reducing its symptoms. His trauma team also champions the integration of the family unit in each client’s treatment. When the entire family system is treated, both the client and family understand the impact of their behaviors and roles in client success.
Abe holds a Masters of Social Work degree from Barry University and a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from John Carroll University. He has extensive training in chemical dependency, sex and love addiction, trauma, and family of origin issues. Heavily influenced by Terri Real, Pia Mellody, Gabor Mate, he previously worked with failure-to-launch and high-end patients at Caron Ocean Drive. Abe is thrilled to bring the clinical expertise and treatment experience of Next Chapter to the location, amenities, team, and experiential processing opportunities of APN Lodge.
