Healing for the family system.
All Points North Lodge offers a comprehensive and intensive family program for the loved ones of APN clients. Dedicated family therapists are available to meet weekly with clients and their loved ones via telehealth. Video therapy sessions for clients and families are included in the overall treatment cost during the client’s time in-person at APN Lodge and continuing after their transition home. We believe that family healing lays a foundation for long-term recovery.

Virtual Support Groups for Family of Current Clients
With Karri Francisco, LMFT
Led by our Family Program Coordinator, Karri Francisco, these 90-minute groups are for family members of current clients that need support and education around what goes on during a residential stay. Each group will meet once weekly starting Thursday, September 23, 2021.
Understanding Addiction and Mental Health Issues
In this group, we offer an introduction to addiction and an overview of some mental health issues including depression, anxiety, borderline personality disorder, bipolar disorder, and trauma. We’ll also discuss how these diseases impact the family system.
Detaching with Love
In this group, we’ll focus on healthy boundaries, accountability, structure, and boundary setting, plus how to use a language of empowerment.
Addiction/Mental Health Issues as a Family Disease
In this group, we’ll explore common family issues and patterns, exploration of what a healthy family system looks like, and how it functions.
Taking Care of Yourself First
In this group, we’ll assess and review personal self-care habits and how to turn your attention towards yourself. We’ll build healthy habits around resisting the desire to control the outcome by working on understanding your own unmet needs with individual therapy. You’ll gain coping strategies, work on emotional regulation, and grow with group support.
This group offers psychoeducation around aspects of codependency like enmeshment, the Family Drama Triangle, and how to distinguish between helping versus enabling.
In this group, we’ll work to assess and identify current communication issues. You gain psychoeducation around healthy communication to improve the family connection.
The Goals of
Better Outcomes: When family members do their own work to grow and learn, the client in treatment benefits too. Clients who have strong family involvement in the process have a higher likelihood of sustained recovery. If a family no longer enables and learns to hold healthy boundaries, the client is less prone to addictive behaviors and dysfunction.
More People Helped: Life change for a client and their family members can break chains of generational hurt. Sure, it may be just one family in full treatment, but healing can ripple through a whole family.
