Accessible personal development for athletes.
The APN Athletics Intensive is an IOP-level program exclusive to professional athletes: both current and former. All groups and individual sessions are conducted virtually, for accessibility and support wherever clients are located. The intensive groups and individual therapy in this program are tailored to the unique challenges faced by sports professionals – including anxiety, sadness and depression, family strife, social anxiety, and lack of purpose. Our licensed therapists and professional facilitators also acknowledge associated cognitive challenges like memory loss, difficulty concentrating, and sleep disturbance.

Beyond your identity as an athlete
Your story matters, and you’re more than a medical chart. We offer opportunities for physical, emotional, and spiritual health.
Join with other athletes to process everyday stressors, current struggles, and more.
We tackle addiction, trauma, and mental health by addressing the root causes instead of just the symptoms.
Your treatment plan is made specifically for you – based on your needs and the therapies that are right for you.
Online Support for Athletes
Trained professional facilitators use a variety of techniques and approaches to guide each athlete through their own intensive personal development work. This happens in a combination of group sessions and individual session, all conducted via telehealth. Techniques and interventions include:
- Clinical Evaluation
- Comprehensive Assessments
- Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
- Dialectical Behavior Therapy
- Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy (REBT)
- Emotional Regulation
- Person Centered Therapy
- Mindfulness-based Skills Training
- Continued Growth Planning (Post-Discharge)
After an initial clinical eval and indicated assessments, clients in the Athletics Intensive will attend three telehealth group sessions (closed and private to professional athletes only) each week. Clients will also receive one individual therapy session with their APN therapist each week. If necessary, other assessments and clinical follow-up may also be scheduled by the program facilitators. Throughout the intensive, participants will gain a deeper understanding of specific conditions, receive support for emotional instability or dysregulation, and develop and refine a variety of skills to make daily life more functional and fulfilling. At the conclusion of their time in the Athletics Intensive, clients leave with practical tools and a therapist-designed plan for continued progress in the months and years ahead.
